Turtle season has officially begun here in Malena. With the coming of the rain, female sea turtles are once again returning to our shores to lay their eggs. So far this season we have had some hawkbill turtles, some kemp’s ridley, and several enourmous leatherbacks. The turtles have also begun hatching. The turtles will continue coming to nest until around the end of December, and the eggs will continue to hatch until February. So come down now before your chance to witness the incredible cycle ends with the rains.
